Wellfleet has a full time rescue/fire squad and police department that will respond within minutes of your call.
If you are placing a call from your cellular phone it is faster to dial the local numbers directly; a call placed to 911 from a cell phone is routed to a state police dispatch.

You can also go directly to the fire/police station located just off Route 6 at Gross Hill Road or to the Outer Cape Healthcare clinic on Route 6 directly opposite Briar Lane.
The nearest hospital is Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, approximately 40 minutes from Wellfleet by car. CCH is a fully equipped hospital with excellent emergency care and a comprehensive cardiac care unit.
